Fredric Spang Klees (1901-1985) was originally from Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He held a B.A. from Bowdoin College, where he was a member of Omega Alpha Chi; he did not earn any further advanced degrees. For many years he taught English at Swarthmore College. He never married. He authored two books, The Pennsylvania Dutch (MacMillan, 1950) and The Round of the Year (MacMillan, 1963). Spang is buried at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading.
