Black Emeralds.

Black Emeralds tells the story of corruption and the lust for power and pleasure at the highest levels of the United States government. Vice President Hugh McCormack was to be heir apparent to President Earl Reynolds, but Reynolds is more concerned with his own presidential legacy than McCormack's political future.

When Anthracite lobbyist David Bergen learns that a U.S. Air Force base in Germany may have received a shipment of South African hard coal in violation of U.S. law, he is compelled to investigate. His actions set in motion a chain of events that propels our nation into a constitutional crisis and forever change the landscape of American politics.

In a scenario that sounds almost too real to be fiction, Black Emeralds will take its readers into the seedy underside of party politics and those who would keep their dark secrets from seeing the light of day.

Duane C. Feagley is a native of Huntingdon Pennsylvania and a 1977 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School. In 1983 Duane graduated from Shippensburg University with a degree in Public Relations and Communication/Journalism. As a former resident of the anthracite coal region who travels to the area frequently on business, Duane has been captivated by the people and the stories of the region. His writing experience includes numerous editorials, newsletters and informational pieces. Duane lives in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with his wife and four children. Black Emeralds is Duane's first novel.
