Mr. Kelly G. Park, CSP, is a retired sandlot athlete, never having the skills to "take it to the next level" but enjoying every moment of those pick-up games. Along with playing those pick-up games, he enjoys reading about many different subjects, but books on the subject of pre-WWII baseball are his favorite. While searching for a book to read, he came across a book review that read, "The book is so well written, the reader will feel like he is on the field with the players." Kelly's first thought was, "No, I never had the ability to play pro ball, but I sure have a lot of great memories of playing youth baseball; I wonder what the pros memories are?" Searching for a book on this subject resulted in zero hits, so he decided he would gather the stories for a book. Kelly's debut book, "Just Like Me: When the Pros Played on the Sandlot, Volume 1," is the first book to tell the story of professional baseball player's memories of playing youth baseball. Thirty-six former Major League, AAGPBL, and Negro League players recount amazing stories of growing up playing baseball and events that ultimately shaped their professional baseball careers.
Kelly is a Certified Safety Professional and the skills he has learned over the years helped him develop, evaluate, and execute his plan that ultimately resulted in Just Like Me: When the Pros Played on the Sandlot.
