W.R. Blocher was a reporter and editor for small to medium-size newspapers until he retired and turned to writing books, first non-fiction and now fiction. He graduated from West Springfield High School in Virginia and the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, MO. He served in the U.S. Navy and has lived and worked all over the East and Midwest. Now based in Florida, he makes his home with his wife, Amy, a retired English and reading teacher, and two dogs. They have five grown children and two grandchildren.
