In this eighth volume of the author’s Pennsylvania Fireside Tales series, the reader will find more additions to the considerable collection of old-time Pennsylvania mountain folktales and legends the author has managed to save from oblivion during his almost fifty years of collecting them from the little-traveled byways and corners of the Keystone State. The tales included in this volume are just as absorbing and intriguing as those that have appeared in the previous volumes, and they bring the reader once again back to a time when the state’s mountains were alive with wolves, mountain lions, Indians, ghosts, witches and other colorful characters of a forgotten age.
