As a child, Audrey Markum’s keen eye for detail led to the discovery of a child’s body and the identity of his killer. Now, as an adult, that early skill has led her to work as a photographer for weddings and the Pittsburgh Police Department. The fact that she has a hearing loss does nothing to slow her down.

After the trauma of the attack on her in the spring, and the trial of the culprit in the summer, Audrey is ready for a nice, quiet autumn. She is excited to be moving in with her boyfriend, police detective, Rod Rodriguez who’s been with her through it all. And, there’s plenty to love about the house perched atop the Brookline neighborhood of Pittsburgh!

Although she’s continuing to work as a police photographer to help cover the bills, Audrey’s wedding photography business is beginning to grow in spite of the roller coaster ride she’s been on. Now, a destination wedding at a fabulous resort in the mountains outside of Pittsburgh, has the potential to move her business further even more.

However, there’s a silent undercurrent of dangerous forces building in the city, and an unknown member of the police department is secretly making plans that will threaten Audrey and everyone she cares about if they’re not able to stop him in time.
